Good cover work is about knowing the audience, understanding the content of the story and finding where they meet in the middle–much like creating a good ad. A good cover is the ultimate advertising of the magazine. If the cover isn’t interesting, people might not pick it up, and sometimes it is competing with many others on the rack.
